YBhg Tan Sri Dato' Bashir Ahmad Bin Abdul Majid

Chairperson

Tan Sri Bashir Ahmad Abdul Majid is the Chairman of Mass Rapid Transit Corporation Sdn Bhd (MRT Corp) effective April 3, 2023. Tan Sri Bashir began his career in aviation when he joined Malaysia Airlines as a management trainee in 1972. He served Malaysia Airlines for 29 years where he rose up the ranks to be the executive vice-president of the airline.

In 2001, he was appointed by the Government as aviation advisor to the Ministry of Transport where he served for two years. Tan Sri Bashir then served as the managing director of Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd from 2003 to 2014 and subsequently as advisor until 2017. Tan Sri Bashir remains active in the global aviation scene where he is currently advisor to GMR Airports Group which manages airports in India and overseas.

He is also the Regional Advisor to the Airport Council World Governing Board and Special Advisor to Airport Council Asia-Pacific Regional Board.

YBhg Dato’ Che Azmi Bin Murad

Group CEO / Managing Director

Dato’ Azmi is the Advisor for Sabiha Gökçen International Airport. The former Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) Chief Operating Officer, Dato’ Azmi started his career as an air traffic controller in 1970 with the Department of Civil Aviation, now known as the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM), and subsequently joined MAHB when it was incorporated in 1991.

Dato’ Azmi was also MAHB’s general manager of corporate communications, and once chaired the Airports Council International World Facilitation and Services Standing Committee and served on the board of Tourism Malaysia.

Prior to his position as the COO of MAHB, he served as an executive director of the group’s wholly-owned subsidiary Istanbul SabihaGökçen International Airport Investment Development and Operation Inc. from 2015 to 2020.

Over 13 years in the IT industry and experience in Project Management and Operation of IT Infrastructure. Certified in 6 Sigma Greenbelt, PRINCE2, ITIL V3, CCNA, and Microsoft Certified Professional also have attended Azure and O365 courses. 

I am accountable for overall IT tasks. Manage Resources, Vendors, Projects, and Audits related to Infrastructure, Networks, Cloud, Development, Changes, and Security. 

His expertise in IT and leadership enables Pusaka Intan Sdn Bhd to merge and acquisition in various industries and skills as a wholly owned Bumiputra company.
